Day "81"

Not entirely sure why, but hadn't worked out in a week and a couple days. I had four more days of level 8 to go, but I jumped ahead and did day one of level 9 instead. I think level 8 is not my favorite, so I was itching to move onto something else. But also, since I had lost a little momentum, I wanted to propel myself forward so I did day one of level 9. As challenging as it was, it still feels great to be moving again, flexible, fluid, connecting to my body. I really forgot what it's like to have accesory muscles working for me. We forget so quickly, but trust me being in shape feels sooooooo much better than not. My legs felt so shakey when I got up from my mat. I will still complete the last 4 days of level 8, and cardio that I've missed before I claim the victory of having acomplished this crazy ride called Metamorphosis... but it ain't gonna happen by January 1. Oh well :)

  3. Hey Leah, how is it going?
I was bummed to not finish Meta by New Year's either. With 5 weeks of a whole lotta slacking + hacking (had a bad cold) - I ended up hurting my back doing L9 Abcentric. I figure my accessory muscles have all atrophied and can't support me at a L9 level anymore... so I went back to L1D1 yesterday. Yep. A total re-boot. How humiliating!!
I am thinking I will modify the progression (i.e. not do 10 days for each level.. maybe more like 2-3) until I get back up to L9 again. Then I'll resume the method and hopefully be strong enough!!
    See ya on the boards,

  4. Hey Audra! No humiliations here lady, this is a safe zone :) I thank that is fantastic that you are re-booting. More people quit entirely (I know I did for most of my life) rather than try again and again until they succeed like you are doing. I was listening to this motivation tape by Tony Robbins and he asks, 'how much time would you give your average baby to learn to walk before you shut him off and give up on him?" The answer is babies keep trying to learn (with a big smile on their faces) until they succeed in walking-unlike adults who have learned to fear failure, like me ;)

Modifying it is a good idea! I bet you will find you progress more quickly this time around as 5 weeks is not enough time to lose all your muscles. Also, 5 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things except that you might come to appreciate TAM even more because as I've discovered, doing the workout surprisingly feels better than not doing it. Keep up the good work!
